Selective Micro Technologies (SMT) products have recently been added to EPA list N, which is list of products which are approved for use against SARS-CoV-2, better known at Covid-19. At disinfectant strength (100 ppm), SMT’s ClO2 solutions can be used as a hospital grade disinfectant. Our products have undergone efficacy testing for review by the EPA, including testing against human Coronavirus, as well as other, more disinfectant resistant, pathogens.

SMT’s easy-to-use products are perfect for the winery; the products ship dry, take very little space, and require no dilution. Simply place a sachet, or “micro-reactor” into 2.5 gallons of water, allow generation time, and you have ready-to-use hospital grade disinfectant. SMT’s products have been OMRI registered for a variety of uses, as well as tested according to NSF’s standard 60 for human drinking water treatment!

2 x 1G sachets in a 5-gallon tank/carboy of water will generate a 100ppm disinfectant strength solution for use against Covid-19.

Selectrocide® 12G

A 12G sachet in a 30-gallon drum of water, will generate a 100ppm disinfectant strength solution for use against Covid-19 that can be sealed and dispensed by pump.

What is the recommended method of disinfection? Spraying is the easiest application of Selectrocide. Allow for a 10-minute contact time on your surface. Then, simply let the area air dry. There is no need to wipe the surface after. 

Note: Heavily Soiled Surfaces Must Be Pre-Cleaned Prior to Disinfection 

Required PPE: gloves and goggles. Respirator/mask are not needed in large open areas, especially with ventilation. Use of Selectrocide is not recommended in unventilated small areas.
